HERE IS HOW THEY WORK:
Small cylindrical cartridges screw on to the threaded mounts that are attached to the bottom of the drones. The cartridges each contain a durable ball of absorbent material. Each cartridge also contains a replaceable filter to minimize dust from the absorbent getting into the drones. An extra set of absorbent balls in a convenient storage tube is included. The absorbent balls can be dried out in a warm place or in the microwave on the “defrost” setting. THE CARTRIDGES ARE LESS THAN 2 3/4 INCHES HIGH AND 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER
THE ADVANTAGES OF THIS SYSTEM ARE:
- The Drone cartridges are not in the way during playing. No bulky hoses or clumsy bag.
- There is less air resistance and a shorter distance for the air to travel than with other systems. This makes for cleaner starts and stops with less effort during playing.
- The Cartridge System is very effective at removing moisture and will keep your drones and reeds dry. Read the results of the MOISTURE CONTROL TEST. The cartridges can be easily unscrewed and used in a second set of pipes with the purchase of an extra set of mounts.

- For wet blowers we offer the new Supertube Water Trap with an innovative corrugated, highly flexible and lightweight design. This simple device fits on the bottom of the blowstick stock and holds up to two tablespoons of water. Its large interior surface area makes for superior moisture condensation and removal. The device increases the effectiveness of the Cartridge System and assists with moisture control for the chanter. The Supertube can also be used without the Cartridge system for mild to moderate moisture control. The Supertube is highly recommended for piopaireachd players who use the Cartridge System.
